Responding to the Immigration Enforcement Crisis

In addition to addressing long-term barriers to permanence, we are actively responding to the current enforcement crisis. We provide back-end support to the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute’s Habeas Project of New England to:

  • Develop and refine intake training curriculum

  • Train volunteer intake monitors

  • Coordinate and staff intake shifts

The Habeas Project of New England connects immigration attorneys with pro bono federal litigators to help free unlawfully detained immigrants.

This work is urgent, ongoing, and growing. If interested in working a weekly four-hour shift as an intake monitor, training and support provided, please email:

Volunteer

Volunteer With Us and support our mission-driven work in meaningful, hands-on ways:

  • PERM Cases: Gain experience supporting employment-based green card cases

  • Assessment Calls: Help connect workers with information about their options

We train and support volunteers—especially law students and retired attorneys—to participate in this work.
